Our first big project we're tackling is the baby's room. We discovered this winter that there was no insulation in our exterior walls and we had a decent amount of moisture build-up on the walls, especially in this room. Therefore, this had to be a complete gut and re-build; sheetrock removal down to exterior block walls, reframing furring strips, adding rigid foam board to walls, new insulation in the ceiling, repositioning light fixtures, new base and casings, and expanding the closet space to maximize storage.
We have about 4-1/2 weeks until we get to meet our little girl. Chris and our friends have been working hard to get things done before we bring her home. Being pregnant my help is limited as far as construction goes so I'm just on interior design duty for this job.
